SK eternix announced on the 27th that it attended a ceremony to launch and participate in a power purchase agreement (PPA) brokerage platform held at Eltower Orche Hall in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

The ceremony marked SK eternix's collaboration with Samsung Biologics to supply renewable energy at a total scale of 170 megawatts.

The ceremony was attended by Lee Ho-hyun, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, Choi Jae-gwan, President of the Korea Energy Agency, representatives from K-RE100 leading companies, relevant associations, and approximately 20 companies involved in PPA projects. Kim Hae-joong, CEO of SK eternix, was present on behalf of the company.

PPA Brokerage Platform Launch

The PPA brokerage platform was launched to help companies seeking renewable energy power purchase agreements understand supply and demand information in one place and facilitate negotiations between contracting parties. Users can now post PPA supply information (from developers and suppliers) and demand information (from suppliers and electricity users) directly through an online portal and proceed with blind negotiations and contract execution.

Collaboration Agreement with Samsung Biologics

At the event, a memorandum of understanding was signed between major participating companies on the brokerage platform. SK eternix signed an MOU with Samsung Biologics, a domestic RE100 implementing company, for renewable energy supply cooperation. The two companies plan to discuss renewable energy supply methods totaling 170 megawatts, comprising 100 megawatts of solar and 70 megawatts of wind power, and will review specific implementation plans including direct PPAs.

As a renewable energy electricity supplier, SK eternix focuses on supplying power by concluding direct PPAs with RE100 implementing companies. The company has earned high trust by consolidating the entire process from securing generation resources to supplying power and offering flexible contract structures tailored to the needs of demand companies. Building on this competitive advantage, SK eternix is expanding its position in the RE100 market by accumulating experience in multiple direct PPA projects.

Kim Hae-joong, CEO of SK eternix, said: "I welcome the official launch of this win-win brokerage platform that promotes domestic companies' achievement of RE100 goals and secures revenue stability for renewable energy developers. As a renewable energy developer contributing to the nation's carbon neutrality, SK eternix will actively cooperate to activate the platform and ensure its successful establishment through this MOU."

SK eternix is a leading domestic renewable energy developer with a diverse portfolio including solar, wind, energy storage systems, and fuel cells. Beyond renewable energy generation projects, the company is continuously expanding its business areas into power brokerage, distributed resource management, and customized power solutions, solidifying its position as a comprehensive eco-friendly energy platform company.
