Taihan Cable & Solution held a ceremony to bless the safe operation of the Skandi Connector, Korea's largest cable laying vessel (CLV) for offshore wind projects, which the company acquired in May. The vessel represents a significant investment in the company's offshore wind infrastructure capabilities.

The Skandi Connector will be deployed starting in August on the Yeonggwang-Nagwol offshore wind project, where it will perform submarine cable burial operations. The vessel is equipped with remotely operated trenching equipment to efficiently bury subsea cables on the seafloor, a critical component of offshore wind farm installation.

Taihan plans to establish a dual-track construction system by operating the Skandi Connector alongside its existing PALOS CLV. This dual-vessel approach will enable the company to enhance its turnkey capabilities, covering the entire submarine cable value chain from production and laying to burial operations.

The deployment of the Skandi Connector marks a major milestone for Taihan's offshore wind business, positioning the company to handle larger and more complex subsea cable projects in Korea's growing offshore wind market. The vessel's advanced capabilities and size will significantly improve project execution efficiency and timeline management for future offshore wind developments.
