Korea's Wind Industry Association welcomed the inclusion of wind power in the 2026 tax reform as a strategic industry eligible for domestic production tax credits. The association emphasized that this policy recognizes wind manufacturing as critical to national economic security and industrial competitiveness.

The association evaluated this measure as demonstrating the government's policy commitment to acknowledge the wind industry as a strategic sector supporting the nation's economic security and industrial competitiveness, while strengthening the domestic production base. The tax credit system is expected to address cost pressures facing Korea's wind sector, including high labor and energy costs that have challenged global competitiveness.

The association expressed hope that the domestic production tax credit will serve as a turning point to enhance global competitiveness by comprehensively covering complete wind turbine systems and key components and materials, including turbines, blades, towers, and generators. The policy is anticipated to work in conjunction with stable expansion of the domestic market to strengthen Korea's wind supply chain.

The inclusion of wind power in the strategic industry tax credit framework is expected to provide crucial support for domestic wind manufacturers to compete more effectively in global markets while building a more resilient and self-sufficient domestic wind energy industry.
