Unison has supplied a 4MW-class nacelle and hub to Pohang Technopark to support the development of specialized wind operations and maintenance (O&M) personnel in the Gyeongbuk region. The equipment will serve as practical training apparatus that reflects the structure of actual commercial turbines, enabling hands-on education centered on real-world applications.
The company plans to strengthen field-oriented practical training by utilizing equipment that mirrors real commercial turbine structures. Through this initiative, trainees will gain practical experience in maintenance, diagnostics, and safety procedures essential for wind farm operations.
Unison will provide comprehensive support throughout the entire process, from manufacturing and installation to commissioning and O&M training. The company aims to integrate technical knowledge and expertise spanning the complete lifecycle of wind turbines, from production through maintenance, into the educational curriculum.
This partnership between Unison and Pohang Technopark represents a significant step in cultivating skilled workforce talent in the wind energy sector, addressing the growing demand for qualified O&M professionals as South Korea expands its offshore and onshore wind capacity.
