Which projects were awarded
The Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment selected five projects, 1,786 MW, in the first-half 2026 fixed-price tender. Three took the general fixed-bottom track for 1,094 MW, one the floating track, one the public-led track.
Whether this is the largest round yet depends on which count you use. The Ministry's own mid-to-long-term bidding roadmap, published the same day as the results, records 96 MW selected in 2022, 1,431 MW in 2023, 1,136 MW in 2024 and 689 MW in 2025. On that basis 1,786 MW is the largest single round since the regime began. The 2024 figure leaves out the Firefly award of 750 MW, which was later withdrawn. Add it back and 2024 becomes 1,886 MW, and this round drops to second.

Basis. Awarded capacity differs from licensed capacity because the notice requires bids to fall within 90 to 110 percent of the licensed figure. Licensed capacities are Gulupdo 255 MW, Hanbit 344 MW, Haewoori 2 495 MW and Geumodo 152 MW.
