CNPlus has secured a 4.7 billion won contract to install Doosan Enerbility's 10MW offshore wind turbine at the Yeonggwang demonstration site in Jeollanam-do Province. This project marks a significant milestone for the company in the offshore wind power generation sector.
The DS205-10MW turbine features a blade diameter of 205 meters and boasts a domestic component localization rate of over 70 percent. This high level of domestic sourcing demonstrates South Korea's growing capabilities in manufacturing large-scale offshore wind turbine components.
Through the installation of this mega-sized offshore wind turbine, CNPlus plans to strengthen its position in the large-scale offshore wind construction market. The successful completion of this project is expected to serve as a reference project that showcases the company's technical expertise and capabilities in handling ultra-large offshore wind installations.
This contract reflects the growing momentum in South Korea's offshore wind energy sector, as the country continues to invest in renewable energy infrastructure and develop its domestic supply chain for offshore wind technology.
