Incheon Urban Development Corporation (iH) is facing questions about its capacity to lead a 9.6 trillion won public-led offshore wind project. The company's limitations are becoming more apparent through comparisons with the progress of public-led offshore wind initiatives in Jeonbuk and Jeju.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's consortium was selected as the preferred negotiator for the 800MW offshore wind zone in Buan, Jeonbuk, which is part of a larger 2.4GW expansion cluster. This selection highlights the operational limitations of iH in managing large-scale offshore wind projects.

While the Jeonbuk Buan project is proceeding smoothly under Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power's leadership, the Jeju public-led offshore wind project has encountered difficulties and appears to be stalled. This contrast underscores the challenges iH faces in advancing its own offshore wind initiative.

The comparison between these three public-led offshore wind projects reveals significant differences in implementation capacity and progress, raising concerns about whether iH possesses the necessary expertise and resources to successfully execute its 9.6 trillion won project.
