Including the conditional designation of 7 new zones by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment on March 15, 2026, Korea's Offshore Wind Integrated Zones (OWIZs) now encompass 9 projects totaling approximately 13 GW. This figure includes the existing Jeonbuk Southwest Pilot Zone (0.4 GW) and Expansion Zone 1 (1.0 GW), collectively exceeding half of the government's 25 GW offshore wind target for 2035. The milestone is particularly significant as it precedes the enforcement of the Offshore Wind Special Act on March 26, 2026, marking the culmination of years of local government-led site development efforts.
