"We are currently conducting prototype demonstration of the 10MW-class turbine, and we are targeting acquisition of international standard (IEC) certification (type certification) in the first quarter of 2027."
At the Unison booth at the Smart Energy Plus 2026 exhibition, which opened on October 28, 2026 at COEX Hall B in Samseong-dong, Seoul, a model of a wind turbine towered well above the heads of visitors. This display, with three white blades extending toward the exhibition hall ceiling, is a model of the U210, a 10MW-class offshore wind turbine developed in-house by Unison.
The actual U210 has a rated output of 10MW and a rotor diameter of 210 meters. This means the diameter of the circle traced by the rotating blades is 210 meters. It applies a gearless system that directly drives the generator without a gearbox. According to the company, this reduces the risk of failures that can occur in the gearbox and enhances durability and reliability.
