LS Electric announced on the 14th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) for cooperation on distribution-level power electronics technology at LS Tower in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province. Under this agreement, the two companies will jointly pursue research, development and demonstration of distribution-level power electronics technology overall. Key areas of cooperation include grid-forming technology for distribution network support, next-generation intelligent transformers (smart transformers), and grid-connected microgrid technology incorporating black start functionality. The core project, grid-forming technology for distribution network support, is a technology in which inverter-based distributed power sources such as solar, wind and energy storage systems (ESS) independently form the voltage and frequency of the power grid, thereby mitigating distribution network volatility and supporting stable grid operation.

Doosan Fuel Cell secures additional 322.2 billion won fuel cell order

Doosan Fuel Cell announced on the 15th that it has signed a supply contract worth 322.2 billion won for PAFC (phosphoric acid fuel cell) with Hyaxiom, a US subsidiary of Doosan. This represents a reorder within two weeks of a contract worth 501.4 billion won signed earlier this month, bringing the cumulative contract value between the two companies to 823.6 billion won. The products secured in this order will be supplied sequentially to the North American region through Hyaxiom starting in 2028, with Hyaxiom providing engineering, commissioning and LTSA (long-term maintenance and service) support for these products. The company explained that this additional order demonstrates that on-site power generation methods, in which data centers establish their own power generation facilities nearby, are expanding and translating into actual orders.
