Ørsted showcases noise reduction technology and world's largest offshore wind farm VR experience at energy expo

Global offshore wind company Ørsted will present its 1.47GW Incheon offshore wind project and proprietary innovative technologies at the 2026 Korea Energy Expo, while expanding partnerships with domestic supply chain companies.

Ørsted announced on September 15 that it will participate in the 2026 Korea Energy Expo, held from September 16 to 18 at BEXCO Hall 1 in Busan.

Ørsted is currently developing the Incheon Offshore Wind 1 and 2 projects with a combined capacity of 1.47GW in waters approximately 70 kilometers off the Incheon coast. The company views the adoption of cutting-edge technology and cooperation with domestic supply chains as key factors for the successful implementation of the project.

At this event, Ørsted plans to introduce innovative technologies in the offshore wind sector while exploring new partnerships to expand business participation opportunities for domestic supply chain companies.

Booth displays Osonic noise reduction technology and VR experience

At the Ørsted booth (B025) in BEXCO Hall 1, detailed information about the Incheon offshore wind project will be provided. Ørsted's proprietary technology "Osonic," which can reduce noise generated during monopile installation by up to 99 percent, will also be introduced.

An experience program using virtual reality will also be operated. Visitors can tour the world's largest offshore wind farm built by Ørsted in the United Kingdom through VR, experiencing what it is like to be at an actual site.

Special sessions on September 17 detail supplier participation procedures

On September 17, two special sessions will be held in Meeting Room 4 on the third floor of BEXCO to introduce eco-friendly technology and practical business participation opportunities for domestic suppliers.

At a forum co-hosted by KEA (Korea Energy Agency) and the Danish Embassy in Korea, Ørsted will share examples of its eco-friendly technology. Subsequently, in the "Partnership with Ørsted: Supplier Participation Opportunities and Innovative Solutions" session hosted by Ørsted, the company will provide detailed guidance on supplier registration and procurement procedures for the Incheon Offshore Wind 1 and 2 projects.

Based on partnerships built with domestic supply chain companies through global projects over the past decade, Ørsted plans to strengthen cooperation in the Incheon project, its first undertaking in Korea.

David Taeseung Yoo, Ørsted Korea representative, said: "The 2026 Korea Energy Expo is an opportunity to introduce Ørsted's accumulated global offshore wind experience and innovative technologies, while exploring practical cooperation opportunities with domestic companies centered on the Incheon offshore wind project. We will continue to make efforts to contribute to the development of Korea's offshore wind industry ecosystem alongside the Incheon project and to become a key partner in Korea's energy transition."
