LS Marine Solution is moving into subsea cable installation work in Malaysia following its operations in Taiwan.
LS Marine Solution announced on October 14, 2026 that it is loading subsea cables for the Langkawi project in Malaysia onto the cable-laying vessel GL2030 at Donghae Port in Gangwon Province. The Langkawi project is the company's second overseas power project, following the Taiwan Power Corporation offshore wind farm (TPC2).
GL2030 will move to Malaysia and is scheduled to complete installation work within the year. LS Cable (LS Cable & System) won this project from Malaysia's national utility TNB, and will connect the mainland to Langkawi Island with a 132kV subsea cable.

South Korea's government has decided to consolidate five state-owned power generators (Korea East-West Power, Korea Midwestern Power, Korea Western Power, Korea Southern Power, and Korea Southeastern Power) into a single entity called 'Korea Generation' after 25 years of operating separately.
Korea's five state-owned generators become one in October 2027. They hold 14.0 GW of offshore wind, a third of the national pipeline. What the merger case rests on, and what it leaves unanswered.
