LS Cable is expanding its strategy to capture the European offshore wind market by leveraging integrated solutions with LS Marine Solution that span from submarine cable production to installation and maintenance.

LS Cable announced on September 29 that it participated in WindEnergy Hamburg 2026, held in Hamburg, Germany from September 22 to 25. WindEnergy Hamburg is the world's largest specialized trade fair for wind energy, held every two years in Hamburg, and brought together major players in the wind industry including global developers, power companies, and turbine and cable manufacturers. At the exhibition, LS Cable showcased offshore wind power grid solutions that connect wind turbines to onshore power networks. The company introduced its full product lineup, from medium-voltage distribution cables for turbines to submarine cables between turbines and ultra-high-voltage submarine cables connecting to onshore facilities. In particular, it presented 500kV-class HVDC submarine cable technology, which is the only commercially deployed technology in Korea's power industry. The 525kV and 80C-rated HVDC submarine cable increases transmission capacity by up to 25 percent compared to the existing 70C-rated cable, enabling large-capacity transmission for increasingly larger and more distant offshore wind projects. LS Cable is strengthening an integrated business system with LS Marine Solution that handles the entire process from submarine cable production, laying and installation to inspection and maintenance. LS Marine Solution is expanding its capacity to respond to global offshore wind projects, including the construction of a 13,000-ton-class large HVDC submarine cable laying vessel targeting deployment in 2028.

The company also showcased eco-friendly materials in response to Europe's carbon reduction requirements. By applying recycled copper and low-carbon and recycled aluminum, it aims to reduce carbon emissions from the raw material stage and meet the green procurement requirements of European offshore wind projects. An LS Cable official stated, "Europe is a key market for LS Cable, as we have secured the largest supply contract in the Tennet project, Europe's largest HVDC project. We will expand our business based on HVDC technology and submarine construction capabilities."
