Korea Electric Power has successfully completed a 154kV transmission line connecting Muan and Shinan island regions in South Jeolla Province. The project featured the nation's highest transmission towers, standing at 263 meters tall, which span approximately 2 kilometers across open sea.

The ambitious offshore project employed cutting-edge marine construction techniques to overcome the challenging environment. These advanced methods included specialized tower cranes, innovative ACCC (Aluminum Conductor Composite Core) conductor materials, and barge-based logistics for transporting equipment to remote areas. Remarkably, the entire project was completed without a single safety incident.

The completed transmission infrastructure is expected to support approximately 190MW of renewable energy grid connection capacity and significantly reduce output curtailment issues in the Shinan region. The project also establishes crucial technical foundations for future offshore wind power development in the area.
