Korea Development Bank (KDB) and the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, along with Fisheries Cooperative Bank, have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen financial cooperation in domestic offshore wind projects.

Under the agreement, the three institutions will jointly design profit-sharing structures that enable fishing communities and local residents to participate in offshore wind development projects and share in the generated revenues. This initiative aims to create a sustainable "wind income model" for fishing villages and coastal communities.

The partnership will focus on developing and expanding participatory finance models for offshore wind projects. These models are designed to ensure that local stakeholders benefit directly from renewable energy development in their regions, promoting coexistence and mutual growth between the energy sector and fishing communities.

The collaboration represents a significant step toward balancing renewable energy expansion with the interests of traditional fishing industries and coastal populations, establishing a framework where offshore wind development can contribute to local economic development and community welfare.
