Incheon City will develop Incheon New Port as a support hub for offshore wind energy by establishing a support pier on a 310,000 square meter site in the Phase 1-2 eastern area through private investment by 2032. This project was reflected in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' Fourth Port Master Plan revision.
The support pier will be equipped with an integrated control center, safety training center, and parts replacement and maintenance facilities to serve as a maintenance hub for offshore wind farms. These facilities will support the operation and upkeep of offshore wind installations in the region.
Incheon City plans to develop the facility into a comprehensive industrial platform by integrating future technologies such as drones, robots, and artificial intelligence. This strategic approach aims to position Incheon New Port as a key maintenance and operations hub for the offshore wind industry while fostering related industrial development.
