Gunsan Port's Berth 75 at Pier 7 has been officially designated as an offshore wind support port under South Korea's Fourth National Port Master Plan revision. This strategic designation marks a significant milestone in developing the port as a major hub for offshore wind energy infrastructure on the West Coast.

The designation follows the port's earlier recognition in March as a 1.02GW renewable energy complex. Together, these two designations establish a comprehensive foundation that connects the offshore wind power generation facility, the port infrastructure, and supporting industrial parks into an integrated ecosystem.

Gunsan City plans to expand the designated support facilities to include Berths 76 and 77, creating a full-cycle support system that covers the entire offshore wind supply chain. This expansion will enable seamless operations from equipment manufacturing and assembly through transportation, loading, and final offshore installation.

The port's development as an offshore wind support hub is expected to strengthen the competitiveness of the Eocheong offshore wind complex and create a sustainable industrial base for renewable energy development in the region.
