GS E&C is accelerating its entry into the Australian market by expanding energy infrastructure projects based on large-scale infrastructure experience accumulated in Australia. The strategy is to broaden its project base, which has been centered on transportation infrastructure such as roads and railways, to transmission networks and renewable energy facilities in order to explore new business opportunities.

GS E&C announced on October 22 that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with AusNet, the largest energy and power network operator in Victoria, Australia, at AusNet's headquarters on October 21 (local time) to jointly develop projects in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

According to GS E&C, the company has accumulated experience in executing large-scale infrastructure projects in Australia by winning the NEL road project in 2021 and the SRL railway tunnel project in 2024. In particular, the company achieved major milestones, including completing TBM tunnel excavation for the NEL project in July 2026. GS E&C plans to apply the local project execution experience and networks secured through these projects to energy infrastructure projects as well.
