DL Group, led by Chairman Lee Hae-wook, is expanding its energy infrastructure business by linking US power plant investment and operation, next-generation nuclear design, renewable energy development, and petrochemical plant construction. The strategy is to link the capabilities of affiliated companies across project development and financial procurement, design and construction (EPC), power plant operation, and energy logistics and trading, in order to respond to growing global electricity demand and energy industry transformation.

Recently, as artificial intelligence data centre and advanced manufacturing facility power demand has grown centred on the US, power generation capacity expansion and power infrastructure investment have emerged as key industry priorities. Interest in diversifying power sources, including small modular reactors (SMR) and offshore wind, is also increasing alongside large nuclear plants and gas combined cycle power plants. While Hyundai E&C and Daewoo E&C are seeking related contract opportunities based on their existing large nuclear plant experience, DL Group is putting forward a business structure capable of both developing and operating power plants and performing plant construction.

DL Group's energy business is centred on DL Energy, which handles development, investment, financial procurement and operation of power generation projects, and DL E&C, which possesses domestic and international plant and nuclear EPC capabilities. With the addition of Daelim Corporation, which handles energy logistics and trading, a cooperative structure is forming that runs from business discovery through construction, operation and distribution.
