Gunsan Revives Offshore Wind Training Center to Build O&M Workforce by 2027
Gunsan will restart an offshore wind industry support center to train operations and maintenance personnel. The Korea Energy Agency-backed project targets completion in 2027.
Gunsan City in North Jeolla Province is restarting its Offshore Wind Industry Support Center project, aiming to expand training capacity for offshore wind operations and maintenance (O&M) personnel. The facility is scheduled for completion in 2027 under an initiative supported by the Korea Energy Agency.
Local officials expect the center to reinforce the Gunsan-area offshore wind supply chain by building a dedicated workforce base and improving readiness for project execution. Over the longer term, the training program is positioned to support stable O&M capability in the region as offshore wind capacity scales and asset owners increase demand for skilled technicians and service providers.
